Hi, I’m Lou! Welcome to my blog. My plan here is to write about books I read, review them, talk about what I liked and how they made me feel, amongst other things in my life! I’m just going to see how it goes and let it evolve.
A little about me – I’m married to the lovely Andy and we live in Swindon, England. I teach 14 – 19 year olds in a college setting, and lead the course for the 14 – 16 year olds on my campus. I love it and they teach me so much about life! I also have the best colleagues and feel very lucky to work where I do.
I’m family and friends oriented and can’t wait until we can all be together again! However I’m also a happy introvert and love being at home.
Aside from reading I love singing, crochet, good food, skincare and makeup, pyjamas … and Christmas!! So expect these to play a part somewhere in my blogging journey.
I’d love to connect with you, I’m interested in what others have to say (particularly about books!), so feel free to message me or follow my Instagram (what.Lou.reads_and.more).

I’ve been interested in youth crime and justice since I did an elective in it at uni (14 years ago 😩), so this was a fascinating read. It takes us from 1957 when Mary was born,Continue reading “Review of Cries Unheard: The Story of Mary Bell by Gitta Sereny … and a bit of a rant!”
- Reviews so far….I’ve just finished my 10th book for 2021, so rather than do full reviews of all of them I thought I’d get into the swing of things with a short review on books 1 – 9, and then kick off properly with a more in depth review of book 10. Otherwise I’ll forever be weeksContinue reading “Reviews so far….”
